As of May 3, 49% of the nation’s winter wheat was headed vs. 34% last week and 32% average. Winter wheat’s crop condition rating increased 1% to 31% g/e, 32% fair and 37% p/vp.

As of May 3, 32% of the nation’s spring wheat was planted vs. 19% last week and 35% average. ND is at 19% planted vs. 24% average, MN is at 20% planted vs. 32% average, and SD is 69% planted vs. 67% average. Spring wheat emerged is at 10% vs. 5% last week and 9% average.

As of May 3, 38% of the nation’s corn was planted vs. 25% last week and 34% average. ND is 4% planted vs. 9% average, MN is 42% planted vs. 33% average and SD is 27% planted vs. 20% average. Corn emerged is at 13% vs. 7% last week and 9% average.

As of May 3, 33% of the nation’s soybeans were planted vs. 23% last week and 23% average. ND is 2% planted vs. 3% average, MN is 27% planted vs. 15% average, and SD is 14% planted vs. 10% average. Soybean emergence is at 13% vs 8% last week and 5% average.

As of May 3, North Dakota’s canola is 7% planted vs. 2% last week and 6% average.
