You must notify your agent to open a claim and get permission from an adjuster before you replant any acres to qualify for a replant payment. If you replant without consent from an adjuster, the replant claim will be denied. There are no exceptions to this.
To qualify for a replant payment:
- The crop must have been planted after the initial planting date.
- The acres must be at least the lesser of 20 acres or 20% of the planted acreage in the unit.
Self-cert replants:
- If replanting less than 100 acres per unit you may complete a self-cert replant which speeds up the claim process.
- The insurance company will send you a self-certification worksheet to complete and sign.
- Self-cert claims are still subject to spot checks.
Replant payments amounts for 2026:
- Replant payments are a RMA determined quantity times the spring crop insurance price times your share.
